The ban is still active though as can be verified by using the Steam API EDIT: Okay so it seems to be that VAC bans older than 7 years (2556 days) dont show up on the steam profile anymore (even if you have multiple VAC bans as long as DaysSinceLastBan is higher than 2556 days the bans dont show up on your profile anymore) Heres a profile with a 2552 days old ban: ( Steam API ) Heres another with a 2558 days old ban: ( Steam API ) This change seems to have happened between 10 and 24 hours ago.
